The head of the Narahenpita Sanctuary and the chancellor of the University of Colombo, Murutthettuwe Ananda Thero has said that it was not Thilini Priyamali, the businesswoman who was remanded in custody, who stole the jeep worth more than Rs. 30 million belonging to Murutthettuwe Ananda Thero.
Murutthettuve Ananda Thero has mentioned that Colombo Municipal Councilor Priyanka Jayasekara has secretly sold her Prado V8 jeep.
He said that when this jeep, which was received as a donation from a donor, was ready to be sold, MP Priyanka Jayasekara took it away on the basis of giving money later.
However, since MP Priyanka Jayasekara did not give the money for the jeep, he had sold it during an inquiry about it, so he proceeded to file a complaint with the Colombo Crimes Division.
He also said that after making such a complaint, the suspected member of parliament was brought to court and released on bail.
Some parties had claimed that Thilini Priyamali, who is currently in remand, stole his jeep.
But he has pointed out that the fraud was done by the concerned Colombo Municipal Councilor Priyanka Jayasekara and she is a supporter of his temple.
Venerable Murutthettuve Ananda Thero has further said that Tilini Priyamali is not a supporter of the temple.
