The National Sports Selection Committee has been appointed.
Sports Affairs Minister Mr. Roshan Ranasinghe awarded the appointments to the committee members yesterday.
Accordingly, to the position of chairman of this committeeChief of Defense Staff, General Shavendra Silva has been appointed.
Mr. Arjun Rishya Fernando, a former national tennis player, has been appointed as its secretary.
The other members of this committee are Consultant Surgeon Dr. Maiya Gunasekara, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs Mr. Prasanna Chandith, Former National Cricket Captain Mr. Sanath Jayasuriya, National Olympic Committee Secretary Mr. Maxwell de Silva, Former National Athlete and National Netballer Mrs. Thilaka Jinadasa.
