Yesterday (28), a special task force police inspector was arrested for taking a stock of goods worth more than Rs. 350,000 in the welfare home electrical appliance store for the personal use at the police special task force headquarters at Bauddaloka Mawatha, Colombo 07.
As soon as it was discovered that goods worth Rs. 354,270 in the welfare shop were missing, this officer was arrested according to a complaint made by Chief Inspector of Police Ruwan Srilal, Station Commander of Welfare Division, to the Kuruduwatta Police.
Special task force information stated that this officer was in charge of this welfare shop.
