Since President Ranil Wickramasinghe is on an official visit to Japan and the Philippines, the President has assigned the responsibilities of acting ministerial positions to the Ministers of State in the ministries under him during that period.
Accordingly, Minister of State for Defense Pramitha Bandara Thennakone will be appointed as Acting Minister of Defense, and Minister of State for Finance, Mr. Shehan Semasinghe will be appointed as Acting Minister of Finance, Economic, Stabilization and National Policy.
Also, Minister of State for Investment Promotion Mr. Dilum Amunugama as Acting Minister of Investment Promotion,
State Minister for Technology Mr. Kanaka Herath as Acting Minister of Technology, and State Minister for Social Empowerment Mr. Anupa Paskuval as Acting Minister of Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment have been appointed.
