The Ministry of Health says that tests have revealed that there are no heavy metals in the rice imported into Sri Lanka in the last week.
The ministry also claims that more than 120 samples of imported rice have been sent for testing.
All 35 samples were not found to contain heavy metals.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health said that imported maize containers were also inspected.
The test reports of the rest of the samples are pending.
