The proposal made by the President to limit the foreign visits of the Ministers of the cabinet and State Ministers to essential functions has been approved by the cabinet.
Considering the difficult economic situation Sri Lanka is currently facing, it is with the aim of reducing public expenditure.
The proposal presented by the President also states that only the most essential officer or the group consisting of a few people who are required for the duties of the respective visit should participate in such visits.
