The first batch of the Australian donation of 22 million Australian dollars (about 15 million USD) has arrived in Sri Lanka.
The World Food Program (WFP) said the stockpile of 600 metric tons of rice would soon be distributed to those most affected by the ongoing economic crisis.
In addition to this stock, another large stock of rice, grains and cooking oil is scheduled to arrive in the island soon.
