Sri Lankan Egg Trade Association states that both traders and consumers are in a crisis because the Consumer Affairs Authority has not decided and implemented a proper price for eggs.

The president of the Sri Lankan Egg Trade Association, Mr. W. I. A. M. Gnanathilaka said that the retail price of an egg is reasonable at Rs. 43, but it is a big problem that eggs are sold at different prices across the country.

The chairman said that the authorities will be asked to decide the right price for an egg and if not, both the consumers and traders will be inconvenienced.

Commenting on that, the secretary of the Sri Lankan Egg Trade Association said that some traders have stopped selling eggs because the consumer authority set one price and the ministers set another price.
