A group of Maradana police officers arrested Lahiru Weerasekera, one of the frontline activists of the struggle, today.
A senior police officer stated that he was arrested on the charges of obstructing the duty of police officers and being a member of an unlawful crowd during a protest held in front of Maradana Elphinstone Theater on the 30th.
The police arrested him in the Maradana area.
The police say that about twenty more people have been identified through photographs and are going to be arrested in connection with the incident.
