The Sri Lanka Freedom Party’s constitutional amendment proposal was passed yesterday (01) in the party’s central committee.
It was at the meeting of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Central Committee which was held this afternoon under the chairmanship of former President Maithripala Sirisena.
A group of representatives of the party had also objected to the proposal, alleging that the chairman of the party would have dictatorial powers.
