President to appoint a presidential commission to seeks inquiry into ship fire ?

The All-Island Ports General Employees Union has requested President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to appoint a full-fledged Presidential Commission to look into the matter regarding the Express Pearl.

The request was made to the President to investigate the ship’s arrival in Sri Lanka, to find those responsible for the fire, to punish them, to conduct a formal investigation into the damage caused to the environment by the ship fire and to pay compensation to the aggrieved parties.

The All-Island Ports General Employees Union has made this request in writing to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

The All-Island Ports General Employees Union has requested the President to appoint a team of experts with standard knowledge and complete the work within three months and take necessary action.
