The bodies of four people who have swept away while swimming in the Udaella area of the Nilwala River have been found today.
It was during the search operation done by resident army divers.
The Pitabeddara Police say that the bodies were found lying in a ditch in the middle of the river, close to where they drowned.
Police say that a group working in a factory in Midigama came to a party at the house of a friend who works in their factory in Poruthota yesterday. The police said that they had gone to bathe in the Nilwala river in the evening and met with an accident.
Investigations have revealed that a group of 13 people went into the water to bathe and 05 people have swept away. The police say that one person saved his life by swimming to the shore.
Investigations have also revealed that the group had been drinking alcohol when they went into the water. The police said that they had not entered the river from a mini port and that the place was unsafe.
