The police have arrested 36 people who allegedly stormed Umandawa Buddhist Universal Village in Kurunegala Pansiagama in search of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa and former minister Johnston Fernando on May 10 and attacked and damaged the property there.
Four of these suspects were arrested yesterday. One person was arrested this morning. The rest of the suspects were arrested by the officers of Nikaveratiya Division Criminal Investigation Unit in the operations conducted in the last few days.
The police say that more people are to be arrested in connection with the attacks on Umandawa.
