President Ranil Wickramasinghe says that the government is not ready to feed anyone for free and that he informs all government employees who are unable to work to leave.
The President has emphasized that government officials at the grassroots level should be committed to the development of their village officer divisions and to fulfill the needs of the people.
Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe said that the United National Party taught the past lesson of uniting everyone for the country regardless of party colour, race and religion, and its aim is to unite everyone for the country in the future.
The President mentioned that he is not telling anyone to rejoin the United National Party, but he is inviting everyone to join the country building without delay.
President Ranil Wickramasinghe mentioned this while addressing the Anuradhapura District Development Council held at the Anuradhapura Golden Mango Festival Hall today (21).
Provincial public representatives and government officials representing the United National Party, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and Sri Lanka Freedom Party attended the meeting which was called to review the development activities of the district and discuss future plans.
The President emphasized that since the time of stay divided is now over, everyone should take decisions without delay for the country. Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe said that the country needs a new political theory and disciplined political journey and said that the old political system has been rejected by the people.
Stating that immediate steps will be taken to develop the historic Anuradhapura secred city as a major tourist center, the President said that a committee will be appointed to represent all parties and that he is also expected to get foreign consultancy services in those matters.
