Dullas fires a bullet

Member of Parliament Dallas Alahapperuma has sent a special letter to Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.

That is to express displeasure at the omission of names in making appointments to the Parliamentary Steering Committee, the Public Accounts Committee and the Committee on Reform of Public Enterprises (COPE), the members who have represented those committees for some time like the Members of Parliament Professor G. L. Peiris, Advocate Dylan Perera, Dr. Nalaka Godaheva, Dr. Charita Herath and himself.

According to the documents disclosed by the Speaker to the Parliament last week, the above mentioned persons have been removed in the relevant committee appointments, Dallas Alahapperuma has said in his letter.

Dallas Alahapperuma has further mentioned that expressing this displeasure is not a demand for positions and the Prime Minister will accept it as an action taken against the current controversial rules and practices.
