The National Transport Commission expresses confidence that bus fares will further decrease in the future.
Its Director General, Dr. Nilan Miranda, while joining a program on the National Radio, said that it is expected that the price of fuel will not increase further.
In that case, he said that there is a possibility of reducing the bus fares as well.
He points out that although various parties have protested in making certain decisions, it is essential to have the contribution of all relevant parties to provide an efficient transport service to the people.
He mentioned that by regulating the running of buses, it is expected to attract more and more passengers to public transport.
