The All Ceylon Economic Centers collectively state that the price of a kilogram of vegetables in the market has exceeded Rs. 200.

Its chairman Mr. Aruna Shantha Hettiarachchi mentioned that the price of vegetables may increase further in the future.

He mentions that the reason for this situation is the lack of proper transportation facilities due to the bad weather conditions that have affected the last few days as well as the fuel crisis.

Mr. Aruna Shantha Hettiarachchi said that due to this crisis, it is not possible to supply vegetables in accordance with the market demand.
