The government informs the popular Chinese ship to postpone its arrival

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka has informed the Chinese Embassy in Colombo to postpone the arrival of the Chinese ship Yuan Wang 5, which is the talk of the town, which is scheduled to dock at Hambantota Port.

The ship was scheduled to enter Hambantota port from the 11th to the 17th for refueling.

The diplomatic approval for the Chinese ship was notified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Chinese Embassy in Colombo on July 12.

However, as further consultations are required, the entry of the ship has been postponed.

As the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ali Sabri and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Mr. Wang Yi emphasized during a bilateral meeting held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on the 4th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that they are looking forward to reaffirming the enduring friendship and excellent relations between Sri Lanka and China based on a strong background.

In this first meeting held between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasized in a statement that Mr. Ali Sabri mentioned Sri Lanka’s strong commitment to the policy of ‘One China’, which has become a stable principle of Chinese foreign policy.
