CID probe into ITSSL for issuing false statements about cyber attacks

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has launched an investigation into a press release issued by the Sri Lanka Information Technology Association (SLITA) alleging that several government websites, including the Presidential Secretariat, have been hacked.

Rajiv Yasiru Kuruwitage Mathew, who is said to be its chairman, had issued these press releases and he is to be summoned to the Computer Crime Unit of the Sri Lanka Police.

He had published this pain under the headline “Sri Lanka Information Technology Association”.
