    10 athletes from the SL team for Commonwealth games 2022 went missing

    Foreign media reports that 10 members of the Sri Lankan team who went to participate in the British Commonwealth Games have gone missing in Birmingham.

    Quoting a sports authority in Sri Lanka, the news sources report that they disappeared after the end of their matches.

    The reports also indicate that they disappeared in an attempt to find jobs and stay in Britain.

    9 players and a manager have gone missing.

    Judo player Chamila Dilani, her manager Asela de Silva and wrestler Shanith Chaturanga were reported missing last week.

    The identities of the other missing players have not been revealed.

    Reports in the country had said that no legal action was taken against the three who went missing last week because they had visas valid for 6 months and did not violate any laws in the country.

    Incidents of Sri Lankan athletes going to foreign tournaments and not returning to stay in those countries have also been reported before.
