Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera, Minister of Electricity and Energy, says that further improvements will be made in the next few days to provide an option for business entities that operate multiple vehicles to register all their vehicles with the National Fuel Pass with the Business Registration Number.

He claims that each of their vehicles will be assigned a specific QR code once the system is launched.

Meanwhile, the technical errors in the website https://fuelpass.gov.lk/ which was introduced to register for the National Fuel Pass have been resolved.

The ministry pointed out that technical errors had occurred in the website when a large number of people tried to register at the same time at the initial moment of its introduction.

The Minister said that a diesel ship has arrived in the island and the fuel distribution will start after the landing of the petrol ship, so do not register here in haste and everyone will be able to register for the National Fuel Pass in the next few days.

The minister also mentioned that since the QR code system is used for vehicles through this method, there is no need to wait in queues to get fuel.

The minister also said that the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation did not have to incur any cost for this system which was introduced by several institutions including the Information and Communication Technology Agency affiliated to the government.

Below is how to register for the National Fuel Pass to get fuel.
