Mr. Postmaster General Ranjith Ariyaratne states that the acceptance of postal items for several countries has been suspended until further notice.
According to the Postmaster General, the acceptance of postal items for the countries of USA, Netherlands, Russia and Israel has been suspended.
However, he further mentioned that discussions are being held with foreign airlines to resume airmail transportation to these destinations.
Postmaster General Ranjith Ariyaratne added that this decision was taken due to the restriction of flights to Sri Lanka due to the ongoing fuel crisis.
