It was through an interview he did with the channel yesterday (11). Arjun Mahendran had discussed the economic crisis in the country, its causes and how to get out of it in The Final Word program with CNN Philippines senior journalist Rico Hizon.

Meanwhile, he has said that the bombing of churches on Easter Sunday in 2019 caused a big setback in the tourism sector and the current rising inflation was caused by the new government that cut taxes very suddenly. He has also said that the shift from chemical fertilizers to organic fertilizers has greatly affected the agricultural sector, especially the export of products in this country.

Mahendran also talked about ways to stabilize Sri Lanka’s economy, such as an increase in previous tax rates and restructuring of agricultural practices.

Mr. Arjun Mahendran is the first defendant in the case assigned regarding the Central Bank bond fraud.
