12 people including Mrs. Hirunika Premachandra, who were arrested while holding a protest and bypassed the roadblocks, have been released on police bail.
The police initially arrested 05 women and 04 men including Hirunika. Then two more women and a man were arrested.
These 12 people, including Hirunika, were picked up by the police in a bus and taken to the harbor police station located in the port area of Colombo. Later, a group of lawyers including opposition leader Sajith Premadasa went to the Harbor Police Station.
The police stated that after recording the statements of the 12 arrested people, they were released on police bail.
