Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera says that a ship of fertilizer will be sent from Oman to Sri Lanka on the 8th.

He mentioned in the parliament today that this stock of fertilizer will be distributed all over the country on the 9th and 10th.

Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera said that although a sack of fertilizer is currently around Rs. 40,000 in the market, this stock will be given Rs. 10,000 per a sack of fertilizer.

He said that the purpose of distributing fertilizers through agricultural service centers is to make the country self-sufficient in rice.
