An army soldier who intervened to control a disturbance inside the filling station in Embipitiya was stabbed and taken to hospital this evening.
Ambilipitiya Police also mention that the attacker who caused the disturbance has snatched the soldier’s firearm.
This filling station has received fuel today after 05 days. Embilipitiya Police mentions that the fuel stock ran out within a few hours and the people who were waiting for fuel in queues became restless.
When the military personnel who were guarding the filling station intervened to control the situation, a riotous person stabbed the soldier and injured him with a knife, the police said.
An army member attached to Kadurugasara Engineer Corps Camp has been thus injured.
