Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Agriculture has decided to suspend the holiday leaves of employees of all institutions belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture from July 06.
He said the decision was taken to streamline the distribution of urea fertilizer.
Accordingly, the leaves of all staff of the Ministry of Agriculture, Agrarian Services Department, National Fertilizer Secretariat, Ceylon Fertilizer Company, Commercial Fertilizer Company, etc. will be temporarily suspended.
The 65,000 MT urea fertilizer ship provided by the Government of India to Sri Lanka is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on July 06.
Following the landing of the ship, the urea fertilizer will be transported to Agrarian Development Centers islandwide from July 07 to July 15.
