The Customs Department has seized five used luxury vehicles which were illegally imported to Sri Lanka.
Among the seized were two BMWs, a Mercedes, a Fiat, and an Audi branded vehicles.
These vehicles have been illegally imported from the UK under the guise of importing spare parts.
The vehicles were seized from a private luggage unit in the Orugodawatta area.
Vehicle imports to Sri Lanka have been banned for more than two years due to the dollar crisis.
Restrictions on the importation of spare parts for vehicles have been relaxed.
