The process of preparing a suitable program for the distribution of fuel to persons representing the transport sector including three-wheelers, private buses, school children transport vehicles, office personnel transport vehicles, container transport vehicles, and commercial transport vehicles which are engaged in professional transport services has commenced today.

This was stated by the Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera after a discussion with MP Namal Rajapaksa and representatives of organizations representing the transport sector including commercial vehicles today.

Discussions have been held on giving priority to these tasks when distributing fuel in the event of fuel shortages.

They also demanded that fuel be provided under a ration scheme for each of these sectors and other needs of the country and that professional three-wheelers be registered at one particular petrol station where they receive fuel and refueled on a daily basis.

Accordingly, arrangements have been made with the police to expedite the process, the Minister of Energy said.
