The Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government has issued a circular allowing government officials to engage in agricultural activities from home.
The circular states that government officials are entitled to holiday on Fridays for 3 months, which they must use to grow food crops in their backyards.
It also states that this system does not apply to government officials who already work from home and officers who are on duty shifts.
The circular states that government officials who take leave on Fridays will not be allowed to work overtime on subsequent days, such as Saturdays and Sundays.
The circular also states that if any day other than Friday is a holiday within the five working days of the week, Friday of that week should be treated as a normal working day.
