A 4-month-old baby has died after being attacked by a wild elephant.
The baby was attacked by a wild elephant in the Pallakadu garbage dump area in Akkaraipattu.
The parents and the baby, residents of Vinayagapuram, had been attacked by a wild elephant last evening while they were visiting the Pallakadu garbage dump area to look after the cattles.
The baby died on the spot and the mother is currently receiving treatment at the Akkaraipattu Hospital.
