The CID today (08) arrested another suspect in connection with the brutal murder of MP Amarakeerthi Athukorala and his bodyguard, Police Sergeant Gunawardena in Nittambuwa.
The arrested suspect is a 24-year-old resident of Bopagama, Veyangoda.
He is due to be produced before the Attanagalla Magistrate court tomorrow.
The CID has so far arrested 29 people in connection with the double murder and 28 are still in remand custody.
Among them are a Samurdhi officer, two former members of the security forces, a salesman, a garment shop manager, several three-wheeler drivers, and a scrap metal collector.
