The Ambepussa Station Master has been suspended for allegedly defrauding around Rs. 700,000 from train tickets and freight revenue.
The Ambepussa Station Master has been suspended from work recently and the Railway Department has commenced an audit into the matter, a Railway Department spokesman said.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the Ambepussa Station Master had swindled around Rs. 700,000 from ticket money and goods transported for about six months, he said.
