A stock of rabies vaccines worth about US $ 26,000 was donated to the Ministry of Health this afternoon as a solution to the shortage of rabies vaccines in Sri Lanka.

The vaccine was donated by ‘Save a Baby’ Association, a joint venture between the Seruwila Mangala Rajamaha Viharaya and the Sri Lanka Association of Pediatricians.

Seruwila Mangala Rajamaha Viharadhipathi Aludeniye Subodhi Thero said these steps were taken to donate this stock of vaccines as there is no rabies vaccine in any hospital in the country.

The stock of vaccines was sponsored by the Sri Lanka Medical and Dental Association in the United Kingdom, Subodhi thero aslo said.
