Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Northwestern provinces and in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (27), the Met Department said.

Winds will be Southwesterly in the sea areas around the island. Wind speed is 30-40 kmph. Winds (50-55 kmph) will be strong at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Kankesanthurai and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Kankesanthurai and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota will be rough at times while other sea areas will be slightly rough.
During thundershowers, the sea areas may become rough with strong winds.
