Police have arrested 02 men who had murdered MP Amarakeerthi Athukorala and his police security officer and taken the security guard’s ATM card and bought goods.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa stated that the arrested two persons are heavily addicted to drugs.
Nihal Thalduwa further stated that the police security officer had been taken away and tied to a lamp post on the road and assaulted. Mr. Thalduwa said that the ATM card belonging to the wife of the police officer was in his possession and that the two had stolen the card during the assault.
Nihal Thalduwa stated that they had bought goods worth Rs. 250,000 from the card and sold them and had used that money on drugs.
