Motion to express displeasure to President was thrown out

It was defeated by a majority of 51 votes in the vote on the motion moved by M. A. Sumanthiran to suspend the Standing Orders of Parliament.

68 votes were cast in favor of the motion while 119 votes were cast against it.

The vote was taken to suspend the Standing Orders to debate the motion to express displeasure against the President.

Accordingly, the motion to express displeasure against the President was rejected without debate.
