In another week, the Manning Trade Association says current vegetable prices will rise by about 35 to 40 percent.
Its chairman Aruna Shantha Hettiarachchi stated that there is a severe shortage of vegetables in the market at present.
He also said that due to the adverse weather conditions and the fuel crisis in the country, the vegetable economic centers are not getting enough.
The President of the Manning Trade Association further stated that vegetable production has decreased due to the lack of fertilizers and high quality seeds.
