The Sri Lanka Administrative Services Association requests President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to appoint qualified and active senior public servants when appointing secretaries to all Ministries.

The union has requested the President not to appoint retired public servants to the posts of Ministry Secretaries.

It is the position of the Association that they are responsible to the citizens of the country for every decision taken by the officers appointed to those posts.

The Sri Lanka Administrative Services Association further points out that no significant performance has taken place in any of the Ministries or Institutions that have appointed retired officers in the recent past.
