Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said the government would respond to the COVID-19 pandemic while carrying out the economic activities.
She told Parliament that if the economy collapses, there would not be money to be used for COVID-19 prevention operations even.
Responding to a statement made by Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella, who asked whether the government was going for a complete lockdown, she said the globally accepted method was to combat COVID-19 pandemic while securing the economy.
