Four new cabinet ministers have been appointed by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa this afternoon.
Prof. G. L. Peiris has been appointed as the Minister of External Affairs, Dinesh Gunawardena has been appointed as the Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government, Prasanna Ranatunga has been appointed as the Minister of Urban Development and Housing and Kanchana Wijesekera has been appointed as the Minister of Power and Energy.
The Presidential Media Unit announced that the President has made these appointments to maintain the functions of Parliament and the country legitimately and stable until a full Cabinet is appointed.
