Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has sent a letter to the President informing him that he has decided to assume duties in the post of Prime Minister.
The announcement further states that the main opposition party, the Samagi Jana Bala Alliance, is ready to form a short-term government with other parties and take over the post as the leader of the Samagi Jana Bala Alliance, subjecting to several agreements.
