Travel ban on 17 people including former PM Mahinda

The Fort Magistrate’s Court today issued a travel ban on 17 persons, including former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The Fort Magistrate issued the order after hearing a petition filed by the aggrieved parties and the Bar Association of Sri Lanka regarding the attack on protesters at Gota Gogama and Temple Trees in Colombo on the 9th.

Other ministers who imposed the travel ban are former ministers Johnston Fernando, Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Rohitha Abeygunawardena, C. B. Ratnayake, Namal Rajapaksa and Sanath Nishantha.

In addition, Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon has also been banned from traveling abroad.
