A senior Al Jazeera journalist has been shot dead by Israeli forces.
Fifty-one-year-old Shireen Abu Akleh has died in the media coverage of a raid carried out on a refugee camp in the West Bank by Israeli forces.
Al Jazeera reports that the death was caused by a gunshot wound to the face.
Another Palestinian journalist, Ali al-Samaudi, was also shot and his condition is not reported to be serious, according to foreign media reports.
However, the dead al-Jazeera journalist was shot while wearing a jacket labeled “media.”
