President considers Bar Association’s proposals

President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has stated that he will consider complying with the Constitution on the proposals put forward by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka to overcome the current political and economic instability.

The President made this observation at a discussion with the Executive Council of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka today (08) at the President’s House, Colombo Fort.

Based on the current situation, the Bar Association of Sri Lanka presented 13 major resolutions to its Executive Council and passed them unanimously.

The President discussed how the proposals would be implemented in the future and emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law.

During the lengthy discussion between the President and the Executive Council of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, all proposals were brought to our attention.

President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka Saliya Peiris PC, Secretary Isuru Balapatabendi and other members of the Executive Council were also present at the occasion.
