Ministerial Subcommittee to identify quick investment opportunities

A five-member Cabinet Sub-Committee chaired by Minister of Mass Media and Information Dr. Nalaka Godahewa has been appointed to take immediate steps to address the country’s foreign exchange crisis.

This Cabinet Sub-Committee is appointed following a decision taken by the Cabinet which met yesterday. The committee consists of members Minister of Transport and Industries Dilum Amunugama, Minister of Energy and Power Kanchana Wijesekera, Minister of Ports and Shipping Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon, and State Minister of Urban Development Lohan Ratwatte.

The statement issued by the Cabinet Office in this regard is as follows.

The Cabinet decided to appoint a Committee of Ministers comprising of the following Ministers to identify investment opportunities that could expedite the attraction of foreign investment as a solution to the current foreign exchange crisis in the country.
