A 270 MW power plant at Norochcholai has suffered an industrial breakdown.
Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera says the CEB has begun repairs and has been assured that the plant will be reconnected within five days.
The Minister also said that the CEB has assured that they will manage the existing power outages without further extensions due to the breakdown, using thermal and hydro power plants.
