Remedy for drug shortage in 90 days

Health Minister Prof. Channa Jayasumana says that the shortage of drugs will be neutralized within 90 days.

The World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have agreed to provide $ 30 million for drug imports.

Sri Lanka has requested assistance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and it has received a positive response, the Ministry of Health said.

It is also reported that letters of credit have been issued for the importation of missing drugs.

The Minister said that all steps have been taken to rectify the shortage of drugs as soon as possible.

Sri Lankans around the world are also working to donate medicines to Sri Lanka.
