Reuters reported that India has agreed to provide US $ 2 billion in financial assistance to Sri Lanka, citing Indian government sources.
These grants will be used to obtain medicines, food and fuel.
The report states that although India has expressed concern over Sri Lanka’s decision to temporarily suspend repayment of foreign loans, they will continue to extend assistance to Sri Lanka.
