A group of doctors and health professionals have decided to stage a protest in Colombo the day after tomorrow (07).
Doctors and health professionals will gather in front of the Colombo National Hospital in the morning (07) to protest and organize a march, the Joint Trade Union Committee of Doctors said.
Dr. Chamal Sanjeewa, co-convener of the Joint Trade Union Committee of Doctors, said that the protest was being organized against the shortage of essential medicines and medical equipment in hospitals due to the economic crisis that has arisen across the country.
Dr. Chamal Sanjeewa said that doctors, medical students and health professionals would join the people’s struggle on this occasion.
He also said that the hospital system has been disrupted due to shortage of essential medicines & medical equipment and power cuts.
